About Tag Rugby in Westport 2008
Ballygowan West Tag, Rugby began last year May 2007, in Westport with your hosts Westport RFC aka The Bulls under the auspices of the I R F U and our main sponsors Ballygowan
A message from Pat Aylward Tag Rugy Festival Co-ordinator
I extend an invitation to your club to travel to Westport and participate in the Ballygowan West Tag Tag Rugby Tournament 2008. Our Event is one the biggest of its kind in Ireland and will be held over the Irish May Bank Holiday weekend and after its enjoyable and sporting start in 2007 we are expecting a wonderful competative tag rugby festival..
50 + teams (c.900 players) from 7 countries will take part in our competitive matches with a total of c. 1500 players and visitors over the tournament. Everyone will enjoy a weekend of high class tag rugby, building up to exciting closing stages with some of the best Tag teams in the world.
I would greatly appreciate your Club's participation in the Tournament, to join others of similar enthusiasm in a display of attractive and fast-pace skillful tag rugby. We will have a real international dimension to the weekend and expect participating teams came from: Scotland, USA, Wales, France, England, Holland and Ireland !"

Every year during the May Bank Holiday weekend Westport RFC will play host to over 50 teams of varying abilities and gender for the festival of Ballygowan West Tag.
Played across seven pitches on the lawn of historic Westport House, with full hospitality on site, over 220 matches are staged. Whether you are a player, team organiser, or simply want to come and experience the event you will be most welcome.
